Like dry pipe systems, pre-action pipes do not hold water within the sprinkler piping and are instead filled with compressed air or nitrogen. Unlike a dry pipe system, the pre-action valve governs the flow of water.

There are two types of pre-action systems:

A.1- Wet Pilot Activation
A.2- Dry Pilot Activation
A.3- Electronic Activation

When detector (1) activates, sends a signal to control panel (2). Control panel activates solenoid (3) valve, which is normally closed. When valve opens, water in the deluge trim set flows and cell (4) in the valve opens. followingly water pass through the cell, after passes thruogh the check valve (5). While water flows within sprinkler pipes, the area will not be flooded without sprinklers (6) activated. When deluge valve activates, pressure relief valve (7) lets water flow and confirms that deluge valve is open.

Working Principle:
Water starts with the data of (dry) sprinklers, heat or electrical load (smoke, heat or electrical discharge button) in the pilot lines. Additional detection system (pilot sprinklers or detectors) will automatically enter earlier than sprinklers.

Use Purpose:
This system is used to prevent serious damages that can occur in the area, in case sprinkler accidently goes off or sprinker pipe explodes.

Electric-Pneumatic Activation Double Interlock Pre-Action systems
When detector (1) activates, sends a signal to control panel (2). Control panel activates solenoid (3) valve. Deluge valve will keep closed until a sprinkler (4) bursts. After a sprinkler bursts, pressure drop in the pipeline opens the pneumatic actuator(5). With detector activation and drop in pressure in the pipeline, deluge valve cell (6) opens and opens the valve. When deluge valve activates, pressure relief valve (7) lets water flow and confirms that deluge valve is open.

Working Principle:
When 2 independent event occur (sprinkler + detector / detector + pressure valve) control panel activates solenoid valve, which controls the valve that lets the water flow.

Use Purpose:
This system is used to prevent serious damages that can occur in the area, in case sprinkler accidently goes off or sprinker pipe explodes.
